February 16th ~ “His disciples remembered that it was written, ‘Zeal for your house will consume me.’”  John 2:17

John 2:12-25

The dictionary defines zeal as “fervor for a person, cause, or object.” The word itself is synonymous with the feelings, expressions, and experiences of intense passion. Zeal can be found in the blazing heat of our emotions when, try as we may, we cannot resist reacting in the moment. Zeal cannot and does not take a passive posture or sit idle when action is demanded.

The Bible calls us ‘God’s temple.’ And Jesus is just as zealous for us as He was for the Temple in John 2. When it comes to your heart, your soul, and your life, you find no passivity in Him. He WILL protect His house.

Know that you are recklessly and relentlessly pursued and protected by the Author and Creator of all things. Live and walk this day in the knowledge that the King of kings is consumed by His passion and desire for you. Where do you see this truth in your life?
